Επιστολή προς τον Πρόεδρο της FIFA κ. Γιόζεπ Μπλάτερ απέστειλε ο Χασάν Σέρτογλου, σε σχέση με τη συμφωνία για Προσωρινή Διευθέτηση του Ποδοσφαίρου στην Κύπρο , η οποία υπογράφηκε στις 5 Νοεμβρίου στη Ζυρίχη.
O επικεφαλής της Τουρκοκυπριακής Ομοσπονδίας Ποδοσφαίρου αναφέρει πως μια συμφωνία για ένα τόσο περίπλοκο θέμα δεν μπορεί να αφήνει ικανοποιημένες και τις δύο πλευρές στο 100% και πως, κάποια σημαντικά θέματα της συμφωνίας πρέπει να διευκρινιστούν.
Δεν ξεκαθαρίζει σε ποια θέματα αναφέρεται, όμως, στην επιστολή του ο κ. Σέρτογλου τονίζει την μεγάλη επιθυμία των Τουρκοκυπρίων να ξεφύγουν από τη διεθνή ποδοσφαιρική απομόνωση, ακολουθώντας τους κανονισμούς και το καταστατικό της FIFA, μακριά από οποιεσδήποτε πολιτικές θέσεις.
Επί λέξει, η επιστολή του κ. Σέρτογλου προς τον Πρόεδρο της FIFA κ. Γιόζεπ Μπλάτερ για τη συνάντηση και τη συμφωνία της Ζυρίχης:
«Dear Mr President
On behalf of the Cyprus Turkish FA (CTFA) and the whole community of Turkish-Cypriot Football, I like to extend to you my sincerest thanks for your initiative to organize this meeting, for your warm hospitality in Zurich and for your obvious-deep understanding of football on the island. Our goals are clear and we aim to end thirty years of isolation for Turkish Cypriot Football and fifty-eight years of division for Cypriot football, in order to re-launch hope and motivation for our clubs and players as well as for all lovers of the game in the Northern part of our island.
We want to rejoin the world community of football and this is why we accept all the consequences of the fact that world football is organized according to the FIFA principles and statues. The CTFA commit to respect them, as they are respected for the good of the game by the 209 football member-associations of FIFA independently of any political position.
The «provisional arrangement» signed and witnessed by you and the UEFA President, is the result of long discussions and everyone can understand that negotiating such an arrangement in the complicate situation of our island, cannot end to the 100% satisfaction of both parties. But, as I stressed during the Zurich meeting and as you raised it in your concluding remarks the matter issues which are directly interest us, has to be clarified.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for stressing that there are issues to be clarified and showing good intention. Also, our sole aim is to serve young people of the whole island. Looking forward to the next steps, we remain».
