Olympiacos sign Konstantinos Laifis from Anorthosis

Greek giants Olympiacos announced that they signed Cyprus international player Konstantinos Laifis from Anorthosis Famagusta on Wednesday.
Moments after signing for the club, Laifis said: “When Olympiacos makes a move, there is nothing else in a player’s mind. It was the best thing for my career. I didn’t even have to think twice.
“I am joining Greece’s greatest club. My wish is to earn my position in Olympiacos as a result of my performance.”
Laifis, who naturally plays as a centre-back can also play as a defensive midfielder.
The 23-year-old started his youth career with Enosis Neon Paralimni before a move to England with Nottingham Forest.
He returned to Cyprus before the 2011/12 season at Anorthosis where he cemented his place in the side and became one of their star performers, breaking into the national setup in the process.
Laifis was voted as the league’s Best New Cypriot player for the 2014/15 season by the Cyprus Football Association, chosen by all league’s managers.
In both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons, Laifis was among the Prthathlima CYTA’s best 11 players as nominated by the footballers’ union PASP.
