French-Cypriot school sign of strong relations
Education Minister Costas Kadis and the French Ambassador Rene Troccaz have said that the French-Cypriot school operating in Nicosia, with 300 students, half of whom are Greek Cypriots, proves the excellent relations between Cyprus and France.
Kadis, who visited the school today, on the occasion of the Month of the Francophonie celebrated in March, said that the French-Cypriot school highlights the excellent relations between France and Cyprus and particularly their excellent cooperation on educational issues.
He noted the high level of education provided by the school. This, he said, means that the local society values the school, its excellent structures and its highly qualified teachers.
Kadis assured that the government will continue to support the school in every way, and will cooperate with the school authorities, the Embassy of France and the Ambassador with a view to ensure the smooth running of the school and its continued progress.
On his part, Ambassador Troccaz said that the Republics of France and Cyprus have an excellent cooperation and this is proven by the functioning of this school.
He noted that students learn both the Greek and the French language as well as other languages and that the number of pupils has doubled within three years and this shows progress.
He thanked that Republic of Cyprus for its help and excellent cooperation.
