Erodotou's trial postponed until March 6
Efi Erodotou’s trial has been postponed until March 6, Nicosia’s Permanent Assize Court decided on Tuesday morning, Sigma TV reported at the scene.
Erodotou, 29, who authorities have been searching for approximately six years, is standing trial for a 2007 car accident in Limassol, which killed Aimilios Ioannou.
Sigma reported that she arrived at the court at approximately 10:30 on Tuesday, under high-security measures.
Previously, Erodotou appeared in Limassol District Court on January 24, where she denied the two charges brought against her.
The 29-year-old faces the following charges:
- Causing death due to an irrational act
- Non-compliance to traffic lights
Her parents are also facing charges in connection with the original case brought against her in 2007.
Erodotou’s parents are facing the following charges, which resulted from the appeal of first instance, regarding the court’s decisions on their daughter:
- Manufacturing evidence
- Use of forged documents
- Inciting Perjury
In 2009 the case against Erodotou was reopened at the order of the Attorney General, but the 29-year-old had since left Cyprus.
