Cyprus' Wargaming airs 2 ads during coveted Super Bowl spots
When it comes to a big games and epic battles, Cyprus-based Wargaming definitely knows the score whenever massive teams (of tanks) face off on the field. That's why this year, for the first time ever, Wargaming geared up to kick-off two, World of Tanks "Tanks Rule" commercials that aired live during yesterday’s Super Bowl.
World of Tanks, the smash global hit with more than 150 million players worldwide on PC, Windows 10, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, Xbox and Xbox 360 made its Super Bowl debut with two fun parody ads.
Each 15-second commercial spoofed the "best of the worst" reality shows and at the pinnacle of their excitement, a raging Sherman Tank makes an explosive appearance.
According to SigmaLive information, both advertisements cost five million dollars, which is around 4.7 million euros according to today’s rates.
That equates to around 166,667 dollars per second.
Approximately 500 million viewers were said to have watched the Super Bowl advertisements.
WHAT IS WARGAMING?
Wargaming is an online game developer and publisher that specialises on the free-to-play MMO (massively multiplayer online) market.
Currently, Wargaming is focused on its team-based MMO war series dedicated to the mid-20th century warfare that will include the armoured World of Tanks, the flight combat World of Warplanes, and the naval World of Warships.
The three intertwined titles will form a common gaming universe integrated within the online Wargaming portal.
