Cyprus defeat Turkey to keep Davis Cup dream alive

Cyprus’ National Tennis side defeated Turkey during Saturday’s Group II clash at the National Tennis Centre, Nicosia.

The match between Petros Chrysochos (Cyprus) and Cem Ilkel (Turkey) ended with the Cypriot winning by three sets to two.

Turkey still holds an advantage, however, with a 2-1 lead and needing to win one more match to win the tie, while Cyprus need to win two more matches.

Chrysochos is facing Turkey’s Marsel Ilhan today.

In the second match, Australian Open starlet Menelaos Efstathiou is set to face Ilkel.
