AEK, APOEL, and Omonia progress to Cyprus Cup semi-finals

AEK, APOEL, and Omonia all made it into the Cyprus Cup semi-finals on Wednesday after overcoming their opponents without any real 'scares' putting their hopes for silverware in doubt.  
 
Thomas Christiansen's AEK comfortably defeated Anorthosis 5-2 on aggregate.  
 
Wednesday's second-leg encounter proving to be much closer than the first after André Paus' men came back from 2-0 down to restore pride after a second-half Andreas Makris double cancelled out first-half strikes from Ivan Tričkovski and Nestoras Mytidis. 
 
 
Defending champions APOEL ensured Aris didn't cause a shock after the Limassol side secured a surprise 1-1 draw at GSP Stadium in the first-leg. 
 
Giorgos Efrem continuing his fine form at present by breaking the deadlock soon after the restart.
 
 
Markos Maragoudakis made matters level before Tomás De Vincenti and Stathis Aloneftis kept Temur Ketsbaia's side on track for yet another domestic double. 
 
Vladan Milojević's Omonia repeated the scoreline from their first-leg encounter against Pafos FC with another 4-0 meaning the Greens entered the semi-final stage on the back of an 8-0 aggregate win. 
 
 
Faysel Kasmi, Eze Vincent Okeuhie, Karim Hafez and Andraž Kirm getting on the scoresheet for the Nicosia giants. 
 
AEL will be hoping to overturn a 2-0 deficit against fierce rivals Apollon next Wednesday to conclude the quarter-final stage.
