Austrian Defence Minister pays official visit to Cyprus
Austria’s Defence Minister Hans Peter Doskozil is paying an official visit to Cyprus on Thursday, at the invitation of his Cypriot counterpart Christophoros Fokaides.
According to an announcement published by Press and Information Office, Fokaides officially welcomed Doskozil in a ceremony at the National Guard’s headquarters, followed by a private meeting of the two ministers and extended talks between the two countries’ delegations.
During the meeting the ministers were expected to sign an MoU for Military Cooperation, as a result of the recent substantial upgrading of bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of defence and security.
During his visit, the Austrian Minister of Defence will be received by President Nicos Anastasiades and will visit the Tomb of Makedonitissas, where he will lay a wreath.
He will also visit the facilities of the new Coordinating Centre ZENON where he will be briefed on the capabilities of the Centre.
