Cypriot tour groups in Nice reported safe
Two groups of Cypriot tourist that were in the wider-area of Nice have reported that they are safe, following the terrorist attack on the Bastille Day celebrations in the city.
The Association of Cyprus Travel Agents’ (ACTA) President Dinos Kakkouras told CNA on Friday that the two groups were made up of 35 and 30 people, and they were on holiday with bookings made at TOP KINISIS and XENOS.
Kakkouras said: “We have spoken with the offices and the tour group leaders, who have told us that all is well. They plan to continue their trip.”
He added that they have not received details on solitary travellers or other Cypriot tour groups in the area.
Asked whether the terrorist attack will affect future trips, Kakkouras said that the public may be less likely to book holidays in those areas.
“We will see how it goes, after we have been informed by the French authorities,” Kakkouras said.
