Number of students in Cyprus reaches 38.647
A total of 38.647 students studied in Cyprus during the academic year 2015-2016, according to a survey, which shows that 62% of them are Cypriots, 28% come from other European countries and 10% are third countries nationals.
Most of the students (31.386) study in universities and the rest of them (7.261) in Institutions of Tertiary Education.
Undergraduate university students (65% of their total number) study Administration and Finance, followed by Law, Accounting and Nursing, while postgraduate university students (35%) choose studies in Education, Special Education, Administration and Finance, Administration of Health Units.
As regards undergraduate students of Institutions of Tertiary Education, they study Administration and Finance, followed by Arts (Performing Arts / Music / Art / Photo), Medical and Paramedical Professions and Education.
Postgraduate students of Institutions of Tertiary Education, study Administration and Finance, followed by studies in Tourism, Aesthetics and Computing.
The number of university students increased by 8% compared to the last academic year 2014-2015, while Institutions of Tertiary Education saw an increase of 19% in the number of students.
