Cyprus Problem, economy & energy on Anastasiades agenda
President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades will hold meetings on Friday 17 of April with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
An official statement declared that developments in the Cyprus problem in view of the anticipated resumption of the bicommunal talks, the economy, the energy, issues concerning the EU and regional developments will be on the agenda of the talks.
President Anastasiades will also hold meetings with New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras, leader of The River, General Secretary of the Greek Communist Party, Demetris Koutsoumba, leader of Independent Greeks party Panagiotis Kammenos and Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) leader Evangelos Venizelos.
Alexis Tsipras welcomed President Anastasiades at Maximou Mansion by pointing out the importance of Barbaros’ withdrawal from the Cyprus EEZ, since this could allow the resumption of the Cypriot Problem talks.
At the same time, the Cypriot President stated that Cyprus keeps a close eye on Turkey’s intentions.
The leaders are expected to proceed to official statements once the meeting is completed.
The Cypriot president, who will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides, returns home on 19th April.
