Pavlopoulos’ official visit in Cyprus finishes
President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who arrived in Cyprus on Monday morning on a two-day official visit, is expected to leave the island today at 14:00.
The Greek President said that he feels like home in Cyprus and noted that the more difficulties the two countries face, the more their relations become stronger. On his behalf, Cyprus Presdient Nicos Anastasiades stressed that this coordination is not directed against the European edifice or any third country. Furthermore, Mr. Anastasiades said that the two countries were coordinating their moves in order to deal with the humanitarian crisis, improve the EU`s institutional functions and help turn the Eastern Mediterranean into an area of peace, stability and security.
Finally, the Cypriot President expressed his optimism that the Greek President’s presence in Cyprus will once again confirm the genuine Greek interest for the Cypriot people.
