Brexit white paper to be published tomorrow - May
The Government's white paper on Brexit will be published tomorrow, UK Prime Minister Theresa May told MPs during ‘PM Question Time’ today.
The white paper will set out Britain’s strategy for withdrawal from the EU, following the UK’s decision to exit the Union.
Conservative MP Maria Miller questioned May on rights for EU nationals living in the UK after Brexit, asking if “there will be more information in the Government's white paper?”
The PM replied: "I can inform my Right Honourable Friend and the House that that White Paper will be published tomorrow."
begin the Brexit process by the end of March 2017.
Last month, the UK’s Supreme Court ruled that Parliament must vote on whether the government can start the Brexit process.
Offering much needed clarity, demanded by the EU since last year’s June 23 ‘leave’ vote, May said on January 17 “Britain will not be half-in, half-out” and “we do not seek to hold on to bits of membership.”
May has since embarked on foreign visits to the US and Turkey to discuss possible post-Brexit trade deals.
Prior to those visits the EU told May, "divorce first" before "very messy" post-Brexit trade.
