Crete: Woman held hostage in passenger/vehicle vessel
A hostage incident occurred on Tuesday’s early hours in the passenger/vehicle vessel “Crete II”, which carried approximately 600 passengers.
A 30-year-old man went out of control after excessive alcohol drinking, and under the threat of a broken bottle, held a woman hostage at the vessel’s lobby. Coastal and police authorities jointed forces to arrest the suspect shortly after the ship arrived at Piraeus port.
According to formal sources, the woman has been admitted to the hospital since she was slightly injured.
The crime scene has been evacuated by police authorities and investigations are ongoing on the case.
