Deflation rate contained in November
Deflation has been partially contained in November 2015, in comparison to the past seven months, figures from the Cyprus Statistical Service showed on Tuesday.
Specifically, deflationary pressures on the Harmonised Index of consumer prices has declined for the twelfth consecutive month.
The inflation for November 2015 decreased at a rate of -1.5 per cent compared to -1.8 per cent in October 2015, according to figures released Tuesday by Statistical Service.
The corresponding rate for November 2014 was 0 per cent.
The fluctuation of the deflation over the past seven months was between 1.7 per cent and 2.4 per cent. After July 2015, when the harmonised consumer price index had recorded a decrease of 2.4 per cent, a de-escalation of deflationary pressures is being observed.
In January - November of 2015, inflation stood at -1.6 per cent, compared with the corresponding period last year.
